Abstract. The article discusses the problems of political activity of citizens during the period of electoral campaigns; based on the results of the study, in a concentrated form, the article outlines the basic systemic errors in organizing work with the electorate during the period of a political election campaign. The issues raised in the study are relevant and topical, and represent a brief but sufficient question for understanding and debate. The authors summarize the current state of the selected research object, clarify the categories of the conceptual apparatus, describe both new and already established views regarding the topic being studied. The article states the problems of low political and legal culture of voters, distrust of public authorities and political parties, and social institutions in general. Attention is focused on the current state of political development of society, the positions and opinions of political scientists are studied, taking into account the sociocultural and political life of our society in the context of the problem raised. The personal position of the researchers regarding the phenomenon being studied is expressed, and scientific tasks for further disclosure of the raised research topic are formulated. Research allows us to focus on the formation of a strategy for working with voters, the need to take into account the socio-psychological factors that make up citizens’ trust in current politicians or a political organization. An attempt has been made to generalize the current state of the phenomenon under consideration and to offer original conclusions that reflect the individual approach and the author’s position in relation to the analyzed process. The researcher’s own vision regarding the further development of the raised discussion is formulated; the manuscript is distinguished by its simplicity and clarity in presenting a personal position. The position of the deficit of ideological guidelines, value-normative basic concepts that determine the content of political work during the period of electoral campaigns is stated.
