Abstract. The article presents a comprehensive theoretical and empirical analysis of the influence of semiotic elements of the home educational space on the emotional state, motivation and academic performance of schoolchildren. The author conducted a study, the purpose of which was to compare the results according to the methods with the drawings and identify the differences. To collect empirical data, the author’s «Drawing» methodology, the Phillips school anxiety level test, and a questionnaire for assessing school motivation were used (N.G. Luskanova) and collecting information about school performance, including average grades in subjects, the organization of homework and the way they are completed.
The article describes in detail the diagnostic procedures, analyzes the results obtained from a sample of 30 schoolchildren, and compares groups of children with favorable and unfavorable conditions of the home educational space. The author revealed that the presence of positive semiotic signs significantly reduces the level of anxiety, increases motivation and improves academic performance, while distracting elements have a negative impact. The results obtained indicate that the use of the author’s projective methodology described in this article can help experts identify the main symbols and signs present in the student’s home educational environment that can distract him from the learning process. These results also emphasize the importance of taking into account the individual characteristics and needs of each student when developing educational strategies and methods. In addition, the study emphasizes the need for cooperation between teachers, parents and psychologists to create optimal learning conditions and support for students.
