Abstract. The problems of combating juvenile delinquency are traditionally among the most relevant from legal sociology and criminology. In the proposed article, the author will attempt to consider the problem of theoretical and legal regulation of the mechanism of criminological prevention of juvenile delinquency. The analysis of the current law enforcement practice and the system of organizational and legal mechanisms carried out in the article allowed it to give an appropriate critical assessment. In particular, one of the significant drawbacks that should be noted is the fragmentation of the system of qualitative assessment of the illegal activities of minors. The author sees a large number of subjects of the Russian Federation as one of the basic problems, which does not allow specialists in the field of legal sociology and criminology to develop uniform criteria in the field of preventing crimes and offenses of minors. The resulting certain inconsistency in the actions of the subjects of prevention among themselves has a number of negative trends. When identifying the role of law enforcement agencies, the main focus in the literature is on their negative assessment. This excludes the fact that this is not the only subject of juvenile delinquency prevention. In particular, it should be noted that in the prevention of juvenile delinquency, there are often no clear criteria for determining the powers of specific actors, as well as gaps in activities related to the performance of duties to prevent antisocial behavior or lifestyle of minors. The necessity of improving the organizational, managerial and legal regulation of the mechanism of juvenile delinquency prevention is substantiated. The author not only states that there are certain problems in the field of juvenile delinquency prevention, but also suggests certain priority solutions to these problems.
