Abstract. The changing socio-political situation in the world has a significant impact on the balance of power among political elites. That is why the problem of changing the political elite in Russia, as in other countries, is becoming increasingly relevant at the present time. The age of current politicians, the lack of worthy successors, special education, patriotic attitude, as well as active foreign propaganda lead to the fact that the change of political elites becomes an extremely necessary action, but at the same time difficult to implement.

It was precisely these circumstances that caused the choice of this topic. In preparing the article, the author studied: many different publications (in periodicals, videos on popular Internet platforms); historical literature; surveys conducted by VTSIOM and FOM; opinions of reputable political scientists. Based on the analysis, it was concluded that the severity of the problem associated with the change of political elites in our country has several independent directions. It is determined not only by the rapidly changing socio-political situation in the country and the world, but also by the variation of existing promising directions of its development. It was also noted that the main object of negative influence from unfriendly states in our country is the youth, into whose consciousness destructive ideas about the policy of our state are being introduced.

The results of this article can be used in the development of measures for education in the field of politics, projects aimed at raising patriotic sentiments in the country and among young people, as well as projects for the dissemination of political knowledge among the general population of our country.
